Sustainable Development Goals

The UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global objectives that aim to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. They cover various aspects of human development, such as health, education, gender equality, climate action and social justice.

UNESCO, as the United Nations agency for education, science and culture, plays a key role in advancing the SDGs through its programmes and activities. UNESCO supports countries in implementing the SDGs by providing policy advice, technical assistance, capacity building and knowledge sharing. UNESCO also fosters global citizenship and intercultural dialogue among diverse stakeholders and partners.
